Parmesan with Sweet Balsamic

Everybody loves parmesan, but this wonderful cheese is often overlooked for the cheese platter. Serve it up and your guests will be surprised and delighted.

Ingredients

1 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
wedge parmesan cheese, for serving
ripe pears, for serving
Handy Tips
Make a simple balsamic glaze by combining 1 cup balsamic vinegar and 2 tablespoons sugar. Simmer together for 10 minutes, until thick and syrupy and cool before serving with parmesan cheese and pears at your next dinner party!

Method

  1. Combine balsamic vinegar and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes, until reduced to a thick syrup. Cool completely.
  2. Arrange a wedge of parmesan drizzled with balsamic glaze and accompanied with pears.
