Australia is home to a range of locally owned dairy manufacturers operating everything from boutique, single-site businesses to large manufacturing, distribution and export networks.

Some of the major Australian-owned dairy companies include Bega Cheese, Bulla Dairy Foods, Beston Global Food Company, Norco Co-operative, Australian Consolidated Milk, Kyvalley Dairy, and Union Dairy Company.

In addition to these larger names, dozens of smaller Australian milk processors, cheese producers, and fresh dairy product manufacturers operate across the various dairy regions, supplying supermarkets, gourmet food stores, cafes and restaurants, as well as their own farm outlets.

Alongside these local players, the Australian dairy industry has long welcomed foreign investment. Dairy manufacturers processing Australian milk include those owned by Canadian, French, New Zealand, Japanese and Chinese parent companies, among others. These companies employ thousands of Australians and collect milk from Australian-owned family farms.
